Long Island has grown potatoes over 300 years We believe potatoes have greater flavors when grown in a maritime climate, and prefer ours when in season. When we start to harvest in mid-September, we are constantly amazed at the incredible flavor of a fresh potato, after having used others during the winter and spring. They are usually available until February. We grow Yukon Golds, and three types of fingerling potatoes - Russian Banana, Austrian Crescent, and Peanut. The fingerlings are best when boiled and peeled and lightly sauteed. Not only are they delicious, but are also beautiful on the plate. |
