We are most excited when our Heirloom Tomatoes are ripening. Starting in late July with the Cherry types, they are quickly followed by the smaller Salad types such as Green Zebra and Cherokee Purple, and then in mid-August by the larger slicers such as Persimmon, Striped German, and Pineapple. Ours are ripened fully on the vine for maximum sugar levels, so they are delicate and must be used within days of harvest. |
